Academic Notice with Contract (formerly Probation with Contract)
About
Academic Notice with Contract (formerly Probation with Contract) occurs when the student's GPA reaches the levels specified below. A student who is designated Academic Notice with Contract on the basis of their grade point average may not be allowed to attend Cal Poly Pomona for at least one term. If the student does not improve their academic standing, they may not be able to return to Cal Poly Pomona.

Students are notified of this status as soon as possible after the end of the term.
Students have options available in order to regain their enrollment eligibility. Students should visit their academic advisor IMMEDIATELY to discuss which option is best for them. International Students should also see their International Center Advisor for additional information.

Academic Notice with Contract Processes
Fall 2025
Students who fall into Academic Notice with Contract at the end of Fall 2025 can enroll for Winter and Spring 2026. However, students also have the choice to sit-out during Spring 2026.
If the student enrolls in Spring 2026, the student will be required to complete several requirements to continue to enroll in future terms:
- The student must earn a 2.0 TERM GPA in Spring 2026 and all subsequent terms until they are no longer on Academic Notice with Contract.
- The student will be required to complete advising requirements prior to registering for Summer and Fall 2026 (and in all subsequent terms).
- These requirements include:
- Completing an online Canvas module
- Completing an advising worksheet
- Meeting with their College Retention and Graduation Specialist
The student will not be able to register for more than 6 units in Summer 2026, and 13 units in Fall 2026, and in all subsequent terms until they earn a CPP and overall GPA of a 2.0.
If the student chooses to sit-out during Spring 2026, they will be required to complete the requirements listed above beginning in Fall 2026 instead.
Spring or Summer 2025
Students who fall into Academic Notice with Contract at the end of Spring 2025 can enroll for Summer and Fall 2025. However, students also have the choice to sit-out during Fall 2025.

If the student enrolls in Fall 2025, the student will be required to complete several requirements to continue to enroll in future terms:
