Credential to Master's Program

Cal Poly Pomona offers credential students the opportunity to pursue both their teaching credential and Master’s of Arts in Education. Credential students must contact their advisor for the Education Specialist option, the Curriculum & Instruction option, or the Educational Leadership option. Contact Ms. Rebecca Briseno for more information on which options they would qualify for.
Teacher-credential candidates may transfer up to three approved post-baccalaureate teacher-credential (EDU) courses towards the master’s degree. Interested students should contact Ms. Rebecca Briseno, Graduate Analyst in the CEIS Graduate Studies Office (Bldg. 6-219), to obtain and submit a Change of Degree form prior to the start of Clinical Practice
The posting of the master’s students degree is contingent upon the completion and recommendation of the credential program unless a waiver has been approved by the CEIS Graduate Studies Coordinator and the Education Department Chair.

Financial Aid

Once the student begins taking master's courses, they may need to complete/submit their Change-of-Degree-Objective form to transition from credential to master's. They should contact Ms. Lupe Linares for a breakdown of aid. Once the student changes from credential to master’s, they cannot change back to credential.
Students may visit the Student Accounting and Cashiering Services website to compare tuition and fees for credential students vs. master’s students.
