Dean's Message

Welcome to the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences (CLASS) at Cal Poly Pomona!

Dean's headshotI am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and diverse community. Our college is dedicated to providing students with engaging, exciting, and active learning experiences that prepare them to flourish in a constantly changing world. Through our programs, students gain the language to explain the human experience, change lives, and empower communities.

Our college offers a polytechnic learning experience that fosters critical thinking, creativity, perspective-taking, and problem-solving skills through study abroad, internships, competitions, research mentorship, and hands-on learning.  We know that the performing arts, humanities, and social sciences are essential for solving the most challenging issues of our time: social justice, climate change, public health, and the safe use of technology. Our graduates are prepared for meaningful and successful careers.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our exciting opportunities and resources. I look forward to seeing you in CLASS!

Warm regards,

Camille Johnson
