Eric Höweler, AIA LEED AP, is co-founder and partner at Höweler + Yoon Architecture, the Boston-based firm hired by the University of Virginia to design the multiple award-winning Memorial to Enslaved Laborers in the University of Virginia. Over the last 18 years, the firm has been involved in projects from "atypical fields" ranging from interactive landscapes and submersible structures, to stone vaulting and media projects.

Höweler is an Associate Professor in Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he teaches lecture courses and design studios with a focus on building technologies/integration. In 2004, he co-founded Höweler+Yoon Architecture with partner Meejin Yoon. He is the recipient of numerous design awards, among them the 2012 Audi Urban Future Award and the 2008 United States Artists Award in Architecture and Design.
