The Scholarship Fest runs from October 1st through March 2nd – for scholarships to be awarded for the next academic year (i.e., October 1 – March 2nd, 2021 for the 2021 – 2022 academic year).

We wanted to make it a more student-focused process. By aligning the scholarship application cycle with the FAFSA and Dream Act application cycle, students can take care of all financial aid-related applications during one time period. It will also increase students’ financial wellness and allow for better budgeting since they’ll be awarded their aid prior to when classes begin for the academic year.

The application period for scholarships is October 1 through March 2 – for scholarship for the upcoming year (i.e., October 1 – March 2nd, 2021 for the 2021 – 2022 academic year).  Applications must be posted by February 1st so that students have at least two weeks to apply. After reviewing the applications and choosing the recipient(s), you must submit the Scholarship Award form to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships by May 15, 2021.

For assistance with opening a scholarship, please contact the scholarships team at scholarships@cpp.edu or 909-869-3700.

If your first choice for a scholarship does not meet the eligibility criteria, or later become ineligible, you should have an alternate recipient ready so that you are prepared to award the scholarship to the next eligible student.

You may be able to extend your deadline.  Please contact the scholarships team at scholarships@cpp.edu for assistance.

You may still award graduating seniors funds for the 2020 - 2021 school year.  However, students must be attending school during the 2021 - 2022 school year in order to receive a scholarship for the 2021 - 2022 year.

If the student has graduated prior to Fall 2021, they would not be eligible to receive a scholarship for 2021 - 2022.

Work with your development director to communicate to the donor the new timeframe & award period for Cal Poly Pomona scholarships, and the importance of adjusting to the new timeframe.

It’s part of our student-centered success. The portal offers a centralized location for students to apply for scholarships without having to visit multiple websites or locations on campus. It expedites the awarding of scholarship funds to students. And, it makes it easier to track the quantity of scholarship and amount of money awarded. This is an essential step to a strong culture of philanthropy on campus. We want to be able to share the amazing stories about scholarship recipients and donors.

The number of scholarships each reviewer is assigned can be designated and reduced or increased by request from your scholarship committee chair.

The number of applications to review can be reduced and reassigned to others in your committee but should be done before you begin the review process. Contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships at scholarships@cpp.edu or 909-869-3700. Additionally, consider recruiting more reviewers to reduce the number of applications to review.
