Basic Classrooms

Behind the Design

These are your simplest classrooms. They work best for classic forms of teaching where the primary focus is on content being displayed or written up on a board. They'll often lack features like hybrid modality support, wireless presentation, and all-in-one room controls and favor dedicated remotes to minimize the amount of technological interaction in classes where it is not necessary.

So, what's available?

Card 1 of 4

Projector Remotes

Power and input switching will need to be done with the dedicated remote for the classrooms projector. Some basic rooms will also include a four button switcher that is mounted to the Instructor Station to make input switching easier since every remote varies.

Projector Screens

Every projector screen at Cal Poly Pomona has been transitioned to be controlled through a wall mounted controller that makes it easier and safer to reveal and stow. The stop button at the center can be pressed at any point to leave the screen at any desired height.

Laptop Connections

Laptop connections in these rooms can be found in a variety of places, but are most likely to be located in or around the Instructor Station. Many of these classrooms only have support for analog connections and will require an adapter to work with modern laptops. Contact Classroom Support if you need any assistance with operating analog connections.

Lights

While a majority of the classrooms around the campus have automatic lights, some Basic Classrooms will still use standard light switches placed besides the main entrance of the room for easy access. In some cases, additional light switches can also be found beside the Instructor Station.
