Borrowing During COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University Library is now the Virtual University Library. The library and the 24-hour computer lab have been closed to the public, in compliance with state and local safety guidelines.

To accommodate for these inconveniences, library-owned items and CSU+ loans that were checked out prior to the closures have had their due dates extended to June 15, 2021. To extend your Document Delivery items, please contact

NOTE: Items that were overdue prior to the building closure remain overdue. If you are unsure, you can view the status of your check outs on My Library Account, or you can contact us at

Services Currently Offered

Even though physical University Library material may no longer be accessible, there are plenty of virtual services that are offered:

  • Browse our collection of e-books and online articles through our OneSearch catalog.
  • Search through our databases for your research needs
  • Chat with a Librarian for research help

Course Reserves is still offering services electronically via e-books and online articles. To see if your professor has placed your course materials on Reserve, please visit our Course Reserves Catalog and simply search for your class (e.g., PHY 1210, AH 2303, etc.). Any materials your professor has placed on Course Reserve should appear in the catalog.

Resource Sharing is still providing services electronically via Document Delivery. Only electronic articles are being delivered to patrons at this time. To submit article requests, please log in to your Document Delivery account and fill out the information for the request. Please provide as much information as possible to ensure the correct article is provided to you.

If you need to return your items to the library, you can return them to the book return bin located off of Red Gum Lane.

A library staff member is still returning to the library once a week to check in materials that have been returned. As a safety measure, materials still have to be quarantined for about a week from when they were returned. Please allow for 2 weeks to pass from the date that you have returned your materials for them to clear from your library account.

If you are out of town, there are still a couple of ways to return your materials:

  • If you live near another CSU campus, you can return your items at their campus library. As a courtesy, you can return your books to any CSU campus regardless of where the books were checked out.
  • You can mail your library items to:

    Cal Poly Pomona
    University Library - Access Services
    3801 W Temple Ave
    Pomona, CA 91768
