Applying for Retirement
Applying for Retirement
Service Retirement provides a lifetime benefit. Employees may retire as early as age 50 with at least five years of CalPERS service credit. However, if all service was earned on or after January 1, 2013, the minimum retirement age is 52.
Refer to the Retirement Planning Checklist to ensure you're prepared and have all necessary documents for a complete application package. You can find a more detailed checklist in Planning Your Service Retirement (PUB 1), or watch Retirement Planning Checklist Video.
