Teaching Associate Appointment/Reappointment

Teaching Associates will be appointed according to the programmatic needs of the department during the regular academic year (fall and spring semesters). Guide to Graduate Supervisory Courses

Your thesis advisor / major professor must be listed as the instructor of record for all graduate supervisory courses that you take. These courses include BIO 5000, BIO 6910, BIO 6920, BIO 6930, BIO 6940, and BIO 6960. Exceptions are made if your thesis advisor is on leave, in which case the Graduate Coordinator will serve as the instructor of record for supervisory courses you take.

Discuss supervisory courses with your thesis advisor prior to the start of each fall/spring semester. Determine the specific supervisory courses you will take and the number of units for each course. Your thesis advisor will submit a request to create the supervisory course sections, and then they will provide you with permission numbers so that you can enroll in the correct course sections using the regular BroncoDirect online registration procedure.
