About These Options

You may need to take time away from the university for a variety of reasons. Below are some of the options you have if you no longer want to be enrolled. Before you make a decision, we encourage you to connect with your academic advisor or the Bronco Advising Center.

Take a Stopout Term

You are able to take one term off at a time without filing paperwork or needing to reapply. If you are receiving Financial Aid or staying in University Housing, be sure to speak with those offices before taking your stopout term.

Take a Leave of Absence

You are able to take one term off at a time without filing paperwork or needing to reapply. If you need more time, you may be eligible for a leave of absence for up to 2 years. Find the Leave of Absence petition on the Registrar's Office website. Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible for a Leave of Absence.

Withdraw From Current Courses or Term

University Exit Notification

If you do not plan to continue enrollment in future terms, submit our University Exit Notification form. Completion of this voluntary form helps notify the appropriate departments and allows us to offer support and guidance as you make this important decision.

Withdraw Admission As A New Student

This admission withdrawal form is intended for newly admitted students before they start attending classes. If you no longer plan to attend CPP, visit the Admissions website for the form.

Return to CPP

If you choose to leave CPP, you may have the opportunity to return in the future. If you are interested in returning to CPP, visit the Returning Student website.
