Saddle Up For Service! Bronco Spring Break

When: Spring Break - Monday, March 29, 2021 - Friday, April 2, 2021
Time: 9am-Noon (15 Hours of Service)
Cost: FREE (Five Projects/Five Days)
Registration Deadline: Friday, March 19 by 5pm (CLOSED)

Cal Poly Pomona's Saddle Up for Service - Bronco Service Break (BSB) program is a 5-day virtual alternative break experience supporting local non-profit organizations in the greater Los Angeles area with engaging volunteer service projects from the safety and convenience of home. Participants will gain insight into social issues and complete meaningful projects while building friendships and connections across campus.

Saddle Up for Service - (BSB) is a new partnership between the Center for Community Engagement and the International Center and Study Abroad Program. The goal of CPP’s Saddle Up for Service program is to support, immersive, reflective programs, that spark engaged citizenship, raise awareness of social issues, inspire advocacy, through an immersive cultural exchange.

The issues explored on Saddle Up for Service BSB experiences are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Students participating in CPP Saddle Up for Service BSB experiences, will:

  • Recognize the importance of social responsibility and concern for others.
  • Build relationships and the ability to work with others as members of a team.
  • Develop an appreciation for one’s own culture and an understanding of others.
  • Have an increased desire for involvement in volunteerism and civic opportunities.
  • Understand the importance of reflection as a tool for life-long learning.
  • Identify their values relating to service and civic engagement.
