About the Event

How do we remember a lost homeland when our memories of it are marked by trauma and violence? How do we construct and reconstruct home and community in Los Angeles when our arrival here is shadowed by exile and racism? Two U.S.-Central American writers who live and work in our region take up these questions through powerful readings of poetry and fiction, with accompanying panel discussions exploring aspects of the Salvadoran experience in the Southland.
