Please join us! There will be fiction reading and panel discussion with Salvadoran-American short story writer Carolina Rivera Escamilla. Moderator: Dr. Alvaro Huerta.

This event is in conjunction with the show, Somewhere in Between, at the Kellogg University Art Gallery exhibiting through March 17, 2019. Curated by Bia Gayotto and Michele Cairella Fillmore.

About The Event

How do we remember a lost homeland when our memories of it are marked by trauma and violence? How do we construct and reconstruct home and community in Los Angeles when our arrival here is shadowed by exile and racism? Two U.S.-Central American writers who live and work in our region take up these questions through powerful readings of poetry and fiction, with accompanying panel discussions exploring aspects of the Salvadoran experience in the Southland.
