Degree Progress Report
DPR Information ~
The Degree Progress Report (DPR) is an audit tool designed to assist undergraduate and graduate students and their department advisors in monitoring a student’s progress toward earning a degree. It complements departmental academic advising by closely following the official degree and major curriculum requirements published in Cal Poly Pomona’s catalog. The DPR is one of many tools available for academic advisement, displaying courses, remaining requirements, total units toward the degree, and GPAs, thus assisting the overall monitoring of a student’s progress to degree completion.
- The DPR is an unofficial advising report and is not meant to replace required academic advising. Students are responsible for meeting all graduation requirements stated in the catalog regardless of what is shown on the DPR. Students should plan their degree programs carefully and review them frequently with their advisors.
- The DPR is a tool to assist in tracking the completion of course requirements in progress toward degree completion and does not interface with the registration system. The DPR also assists the Registrar's Office in the review process for degree awarding at the end of each academic term.
- The DPR is not a tool for planning a student’s term-by-term coursework. Many variations in course pathways could contribute toward your degree. It is recommended to seek guidance from advisors on strategies for completing prerequisites and determining the correct course path to ensure timely graduation.
- The DPR does not include students pursuing Certificates or Credentials. Students should consult with their department advisors or graduate coordinators for further guidance on meeting degree requirements.
The DPR is available for graduate students (except for Credential and Certificate programs) who were admitted Fall 2022 and forward. It follows the program requirements outlined in the University catalog (https://catalog.cpp.edu). Any catalog deviations made by students may not be displayed in the DPR, and a Graduate Academic Petition may be required. Students admitted prior to Fall 2022 will continue to follow their Program of Study. Contact your graduate coordinator if you have any questions.
The DPR contains PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL student data. It is the property of Cal Poly Pomona and cannot be shared or used outside official University business without the student’s written consent. By viewing this report, the user acknowledges the sensitive and private nature of the data and agrees to abide by the federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. For additional details, see the Registrar’s Office page on FERPA.

Current CPP students with transfer courses and entering Undergraduate Students attending Orientation can retrieve their Transfer Credit Report (TCR) from their Advisee Student Center within PeopleSoft after logging in via MyCPP Portal.
Used together, the DPR and TCR provide detailed information on how completed courses at CPP and/or other institutions are applied to the completion of major requirements and progress to degree.

More Details About the DPR:
The American Cultural Perspectives Requirement is a graduation requirement satisfied by completing the equivalent of an approved course from the list shown in the Cal Poly Pomona Catalog. Please note that completing the CSU Breadth General Education Certification pattern or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) does not guarantee satisfaction of this requirement. Contact the Registrar's Office for more details.
California Community College students who earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) are guaranteed admission with junior standing to a CSU and given priority admission over other transfer applicants when applying to a local CSU campus, or non-impacted CSU program. ADT admission applicants are given priority consideration to an impacted campus/program or to campuses/programs that have been deemed similar to the degree completed at the community college. Students who have completed an ADT in a program deemed similar to a Cal Poly Pomona major are able to complete remaining requirements for graduation within 60 semester units.
A maximum of 9 semester units from an accredited institution or from the College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) may be applied to the Master's Degree requirements with departmental and college approval. Time limits apply to the acceptance of transfer courses.
Degree Progress Report - FAQs:
The DPR uses three indicators located on the right of the requirement to show if a requirement is completed. The green indicator means the requirement is completed, yellow means the course is in progress, and red means the requirement has not been completed.
Watch Viewing Your DPR & Academic Information for a quick guide through the DPR. If you still need assistance after watching, please see your academic advisor in your major department.
Yes, in the header of the DPR under “Current Academic Summary” there is a line note saying, “ADT Pathway”. This line will identify the program associated with your ADT.
Note, under the “General Degree Requirements” section of the DPR there will be general information regarding the ADT program within the “Message: Curriculum Requirements” section of the general degree requirements. https://www.calstate.edu/apply/transfer/Pages/ccc-associate-degree-for-transfer.aspx
The total units and GPA on your Degree Progress Report (DPR) may differ from your transcript due to how the DPR applies courses toward your specific degree requirements. The DPR evaluates courses based on your major, general education, and other graduation requirements, whereas your transcript reflects all coursework completed, including any non-degree applicable courses.
Additionally, certain courses might be in progress, repeated, or excluded from the DPR calculations based on university policies
If you have completed a requirement but it is not showing as 'Completed' on your Degree Progress Report (DPR), there could be a few reasons:
- Processing Time: If you recently completed the course, your DPR may not have updated yet. Allow some time for processing.
- Transfer Credits: If the requirement was met with transfer coursework, it may still be under review or need manual adjustment.
- Course Substitutions or Exceptions: If you receive approval for a course substitution or exception, it may need to be officially recorded.
- Minimum Grade Requirement: Some requirements have specific grade requirements. If the grade does not meet the minimum, the requirement may still show as incomplete.
- Placement in the DPR: The system may not have automatically applied the course to the correct requirement, and an adjustment may be needed.
If you believe everything is in order but the DPR still isn’t reflecting the completion, please reach out to the Registrar’s Office or your academic advisor for further review.
There could be a couple of reasons for this usually revolving around the grade has yet to be submitted by the department or yet to be posted by the PeopleSoft system. Now there are deadlines the departments need to follow to ensure courses are graded on time, if these dates are past this could cause a delay in grading showing on your DPR. In any case, if you have concerns regarding your grades posted or not, please see your department advisor to assist you in clearing up these grading issues.
Transfer courses with CPP equivalencies to TRN-TRN/LD, TRN-TRN/UD, TRN-MAT, TRN-SCI, etc. Refer to ‘course elective credit’ meaning the transfer course’s GPA and units have been accepted but the transfer course itself did not articulate to a specific CPP course. This does not mean a transfer course could not be used to satisfy a degree requirement. As a student, you must contact your department advisor to see if these courses may be used for course requirement satisfaction.
This section on the DPR refers to coursework that can’t be used to fulfill degree requirements, such as courses that have failed, withdrawn, repeated, non-credit, incomplete, and/or non-baccalaureate credit.
