Donors Rally for College on Giving Day

May 6, 2022

In a campaign of heartfelt giving, including some special challenges, the Don B. Huntley College of Agriculture and W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center communities rallied around Cal Poly Pomona’s Giving Day 2022. Between April 20–21, we united to raise $131,476 for these two programs—a new record!

The response to the university’s annual appeal exceeded last year’s record by $101,748. We also increased the number of donors from 75 in 2021 to 108. Overall, the university raised a total of $500,748 for various initiatives such as academic programs and student success.

Crucial to these efforts was a strong showing from volunteers. Over 134 ambassadors joined in promotions and raising funds for the various projects. Special recognition goes to individuals that offered matching gifts and challenges to inspire additional contributions to the Huntley College and the horse center: Susan Kellogg, alumni John and Shirley Resich, Kathy and Ed Harcharik, and Dick and Carole Spezzano GP’19.

Dick Spezzano is a member of the Huntley College Board of Advisors. Kellogg and John Resich are members of both the board of advisors and the Cal Poly Pomona Philanthropic Foundation Board of Directors.

“I am grateful for the generosity of our Bronco community in support of the Huntley College and the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center. These gifts help promise a stronger tomorrow for students now and into the future” Interim Dean Martin Sancho-Madriz said. “Thank you for your continued belief in Cal Poly Pomona’s mission!”
