Career Advising

Career Advising Initiatives - Spring 2021

In an effort to support students in their exploration of careers after graduation, the COS Advising Center began offering department specific career workshops in collaboration with our Career Specialist, Ed Venegas, and department chairs. These workshops provided helpful tips, and major specific suggestions in regards to internships, pre-requisites for graduate school, and how to prepare for life after graduation. In addition, an alumni from each department also shared their personal stories of success as well. In the Spring 2021 term, workshops were held for Kinesiology majors and Computer Science majors.

Please view the Kinesiology recording here.

In addition the above events led by the COS Advising Center, there was a college wide event that occurred on April 27, 2021. Members of our College of Science Dean’s Circle discussed Careers in STEM, student success, imposter syndrome, diversity, inclusion, and equity, and shared useful advice to help prepare students to land the job of their dreams. You may watch the Career Panel Discussion here.
