Grad Student Wins Library Research Award

Choyce BrownA graduate student in the international apparel management program won a Cal Poly Pomona Library Research Award for a case study on supply chain transparency.

Choyce Brown (’18, apparel merchandising management; ’22, M.S., international apparel management) won the library award for the graduate category for her work, “The North Face and Supply Chain Transparency.”

The project explored how transparent the North Face outdoor clothing company is with consumers about the sustainability of its materials suppliers and its supply chain.

For her efforts, she received a certificate and a Bronco Gift Card from the University Library. The library will also keep her paper in the Bronco ScholarWorks repository.

It’s the second consecutive year that an apparel merchandising graduate student has won the best graduate school project.

Last year, Irma Villanueva and Jennifer Hernandez won for their project, “A Content Analysis of 3D Virtual Prototyping and Zero-Waste Design Methods in Apparel Research.”
