Tenure-Track & Lecturer Guidelines

For tenure-track faculty, Cal Poly Pomona participates in a university-wide reappointment, tenure, and promotion (RTP) program. For lecturers, Cal Poly Pomona participates in a yearly evaluation program. All faculty evaluation is set in accordance with guidelines set forth by policies agreed upon by the administration, faculty, and union. 

Tenure-Track Faculty

University Policy

Policy #1328 is intended to be a guide for the conduct of all reappointment, tenure, and promotion (RTP) matters. Every September before tenure and promotion, faculty are expected to submit periodic evaluation narratives for reappointment.

The standards for RTP guidelines outline the reappointment, tenure, and promotion process and standards for tenure-track faculty in the Department of Political Science. Last updated 8/10/2018. 

Lecturer Faculty

University Policy

Policy #1336 is intended to be a guide for the conduct of evaluation and reappointment matters for temporary faculty. Every March, lecturers who teach in consecutive semesters are expected to submit perioidic evaluation narratives for reappointment.

CAFE (The Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence) A actively supports faculty, tenure-line and lecturers, in all stages and facets of their careers at Cal Poly Pomona. We provide orientation for new faculty, pedagogical resources, collaborative opportunities, and confidential consultations.
