Study abroad at CPP

Our department offers students the opportunity to take their education beyond the classroom through short-term, faculty-led international travel experiences during winter break, spring break, and summer. Supported by the generosity of department alumnus Sean Yu, these experiences bring students alongside faculty mentors to explore major political, economic, and cultural centers around the world, with past destinations including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, France, and England. Whether exploring international institutions, global trade, comparative political systems, or the forces shaping communities across borders, students experience global politics firsthand while engaging directly with the people, places, and cultures they study.

2026-2027 Planned Departures

For the 2026-2027 academic year, the department has planned the following trips:

  • Ecuador - Winter Break: December 13 - 24, 2026
  • Singapore - Winter Break: January 6 - 18, 2027
  • Peru - Spring Break: March 25 - April 4, 2027
  • Japan - Summer Session: May 31 - June 14, 2027

Each of these trips is designed to immerse students in comparative political systems, comparative cultures and political systems and to give students social service outreach opportunities. Students interested in participating should begin planning now by connecting with Dr. Reese. Prior to trips, students will be expected to attend orientation sessions and submit deposits, taking an important step toward developing the global perspective and real-world experience essential for careers in political science and beyond.
