Submitting your work

The California State Polytechnic University, Pomona Undergraduate Journal of Political Science is a yearly publication open to all current California State Polytechnic University, Pomona students. The purpose of this journal is to provide students with the opportunity to have their paper peer-reviewed and published. It also showcases well-written papers for fellow students to see what constitutes a well-written paper so they can improve upon their papers for future classes. Students whose papers are selected to be published are able to build up their resume and enhance their grad school applications.

Papers can be from any level of political science class or any class dealing with politics. Papers can even be written specifically to be submitted to the journal as long as it fulfills the submission requirements.

Submission Requirements

  1. Papers must be related to one of the political science subfields i.e. American Government, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Thought, Research Methods, Public Administration, and Public Law.

  2. Papers must be in APA format.

  3. Papers must have an abstract.

  4. Papers must be a minimum of 5 pages long, excluding the cover page, abstract, and bibliography. There are no limitations on how long the paper is.

  5. Papers must utilize a minimum of 7 sources and the majority of these sources must be from scholarly articles. There are no limitations on how many sources used.

Please keep in mind that papers written for a specific class and submitted to the journal will be subject to a grade verification if the paper is chosen to be published.
