Change of Major Requirements

View up-to-date change of major requirements for all College of Science majors. Please note when changing majors during the 2022-2023 year, the student will be following the 2022-2023 curriculum.   

View a comprehensive list of the  University's Change of Major requirements, and a Change of Major guide.

Once a student has verified they meet the requirements and attended a change of major meeting (if necessary), the student must submit the  Change of major e-form.

  • 3.25 CPP and Overall GPA
  • C or better in BIO 1210/L and BIO 1220/L
  • Students must have completed 2 full semesters at CPP.
  • Students must meet with a Biology Faculty Advisor, complete a Biology advising worksheet and attach the signed worksheet to their online change of major e-form.

 

Internal Change of Majors

*Current Biology students who want to switch to a different degree option within Biology can submit the change of major request at any time.

Same Requirements for Lower and Upper Division Students
  • 3.25 CPP, Overall and courses in CS Core GPA.
  • B or better in CS 1300, CS 1400 and CS 2400.
  • C or better in MAT 1140, MAT 1150, PHY 1510 and PHY 1510L.
  • Completed at least 30 semester units (at least one academic year) at CPP.
  • Once all of these requirements listed above have been met, student must email cs_com@cpp.edu with current unofficial transcripts to be added to a Canvas Change of major module. When you successfully complete the module, you can submit the Change of Major form.

Change of major request can be initiated at any time, once the above requirements are fully satisfied.

Minors Offered Process To Add Minor Contact Information
Chemistry Student must initiate the minor request
before or after meeting with Dr. McCulloch. Student must make an appointment with Dr. McCulloch using her PAL to add the minor.
After reviewing the curriculum and talking
about the minor, Dr. McCulloch will then
process the student request.
For minor advising, students should
also schedule an advising appointment with Dr. McCulloch. You can make an appointment with her using her PAL to
review requirements.
