What is a Peer Mentor?
Peer Mentors support ASP trainees and students in OUR research programs through 1:1 mentoring. Mentors are experienced CPP students supporting mentees who are new to CPP. Mentoring topics will be related to conducting research, utilizing campus resources, and communicating with faculty. Mentors receive training in those topics by enrolling in CPU 4990 to supplement their personal experiences. In Spring 2026, Peer Mentors receive a $400 stipend and Priority Registration to schedule mentoring sessions and attend workshops.
Program Requirements
- Enroll in CPU 4990 (2 units, Fridays 1-3PM, in-person only) in Fall 2025
- Lead approximately ten 1:1 peer mentoring meetings per semester (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026)
- Attend monthly training meetings and workshops in Spring 2026
