What is a Research Mentee?

Freshman/Sophomore students will start as Achieve Scholars Research Trainees. Research Trainees will learn about undergraduate research, participate in program activities, workshops, peer mentoring, and advising. The program is goal oriented and students will be encouraged to apply to research opportunities like Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU).

Program Requirements

  • Attend THREE research training workshops during the semester (first Friday of the month 1pm-2pm in Building 1 International Student Center)
  • Attend ONE professional development activity of your choice (contact advisor for more information)
  • Participation in semester surveys and follow-up survey after graduation
  • Meet with program advisor twice per term
