International Freshmen and Transfer Application Checklist

All international applicants must declare a major at the time of application. Visit our University Catalog to explore undergraduate majors.

Undergraduate applicants (freshmen and transfer) – If you have attended school in the U.S., you will be asked to enter your U.S. coursework on your Cal State Apply application. If you attended school outside of the U.S., you will not need to enter your coursework. However, you will be asked to mail a copy of such international transcripts so that we may assess your academic profile.

Applicants are encouraged to review the following helpful resources when completing the Cal State Apply application.

Apply online October 1 through November 30, via Cal State Apply

Cal Poly Pomona makes admission decisions based on self-reported information from the application! Provisionally admitted students who intend to enroll at Cal Poly Pomona will be required to submit an official transcript to verify eligibility and high school graduation.

Note: The application is open for non-impacted majors from institutions outside of the US through March 1, 2023.

A $70 non-refundable application filing fee must be paid at the time of application submission. Instructions for payment can be found on Cal State Apply.

The Office of Admissions will communicate your next steps in the admission process via Bronco Direct, your student account.

If you would like to withdraw your application, please submit the withdrawal form

International Graduate Application Checklist

Visit our University Catalog to explore masters and doctoral programs.

Unofficial transcripts are to be uploaded at the time of application.  If you received your bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona, you do not need to send official transcripts. International applicants from non-US institutions must also send official transcripts/marks via post.  If transcripts are not in English, you must provide a certified translation.

While not required, it is strongly suggested that graduate applicants from non US institutions provide a professional credential evaluation from an accredited agency. Doing so may expedite the evaluation of your admission application and assist with determining your degree/course equivalency to CPP requirements.  https://www.naces.org/members

Applicants are encouraged to review the Graduate Application Guide (PDF) when completing the Cal State Apply application.
