International Application Checklist

Application Process

Cal Poly Pomona wants to make the application process as simple as possible, which is why we have put together an application checklist that lets you know what you need and best practices when applying.

International Freshmen and Transfer Application Checklist

All international applicants must declare a major at the time of application. Visit our Academic Programs list to explore undergraduate majors.

Undergraduate applicants (freshmen and transfer) – If you have attended school in the U.S., you will be asked to enter your U.S. coursework on your Cal State Apply application. If you attended school outside of the U.S., you will not need to enter your coursework. However, you will be asked to mail a copy of such international transcripts so that we may assess your academic profile.

Applicants are encouraged to review the following helpful resources when completing the Cal State Apply application.

Apply online via Cal State Apply

Fall 2025 - October 1 - December 2 (March 1 for non-impacted majors)

Spring 2025 - August 1- 31 (Transfers only)

Cal Poly Pomona makes admission decisions based on self-reported information from the application! Provisionally admitted students who intend to enroll at Cal Poly Pomona will be required to submit an official transcript to verify eligibility and high school graduation.

Note: The Fall application is extended for non-impacted majors from institutions outside of the US through March 1, 2025.

A $70 non-refundable application filing fee must be paid at the time of application submission. Instructions for payment can be found on Cal State Apply.

  • For Spring 2025 applicants, the Office of Admissions will communicate your next steps in the admission process via Bronco Direct, your student account.
  • For Fall 2025 undergraduates applicants, the Office of Admissions will communicate your admission status and next steps via the NEW Bronco Applicant Portal.
  • If you would like to withdraw your application, please submit the withdrawal form

General Information

Before you apply, we recommend that you carefully review the Cal Poly Pomona International admission requirements to be considered. Admission into Cal Poly Pomona is competitive as we have more qualified applicants than we can admit. Cal Poly Pomona will consider you for admissions to your alternate major if space is available, but cannot guarantee consideration for your alternate major/program. We prioritize applicants within the same academic college. Students who have been admitted should review the Next Steps ChecklistBegin your application here.
