Next Steps Checklist
2023-2024 Housing application will be available to ALL admitted students March 1, 2023.
Incoming First-Year Freshmen who graduated high school from non-local districts are required to complete the housing application process. Submission of an application does not guarantee a housing assignment. Priority of housing assignments and preferences will be given to students who apply early.
Cal Poly Pomona recognizes that exemptions to the residential requirement may be appropriate in certain circumstances. The exemption process can be completed through your Housing Portal after the 2023-2024 housing application opens on March 1, 2023
The prority deadline to apply for housing is April 15, 2023.

Freshmen are required to submit their Intent to Enroll and pay a $150 Enrollment Deposit (if applicable) by May 1 in order to complete the acceptance of the offer of admission. The deposit will be applied to your tuition. For payment options, visit Cashiering Services. Note: Enrollment Deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.
The Enrollment Deposit can be waived for students receiving state or federal need-based grants or full financial assistance. If you qualify for the waiver, you must still accept your admissions offer. You qualify for the waiver if:
- Your financial aid includes Pell Grant, and/or Cal Grant or
- Your Federal Student Aid Report includes an Expected Family Contribution of $5,846 or less or
- You qualify for an Athletic Scholarship.
- You are a military affiliated student using either Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill or Chapter 31 – Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Program under the Department of Veterans Affairs. Please contact the Veterans Resource Center by e-mailing vetquestions@cpp.edu or calling 909-869-6994.

Failure to submit your Intent to Enroll and pay your Enrollment Deposit (if applicable) by the stated deadlines may result in your application being withdrawn.
Admitted freshmen are required to attend a mandatory orientation. Registration for orientation will begin on February 24 through your MyCPP and will close on May 19. Freshman orientation will run from June through July.

The ALEKS PPL should be completed by your orientation day to ensure proper class placement.
Some students with specific majors are required to take the ALEKS PPL - the mathematics placement program offered by Cal Poly Pomona. It allows you to review, take practice tests, and then come to campus for the official placement test. For more information visit Mathematics and Statistics department.
Admittred Freshman who took classes at a college and/or university during high school will need to submit official college transcripts to the Office of Admissions. Without official transcripts, the university cannot grant the college transfer credit. Official transcripts should be sent by the student's orientation date, but no later than July 15.

Admitted students can send electronic transcripts via:

Important: Do NOT send transcripts to yourself and then forward to verify@cpp.edu or they will be considered unofficial, they must be sent directly to email address above.
Non-Electronic Transcripts
Should these services not be available, have your institution send the transcripts in a sealed, unopened envelope directly to:

Do not open transcripts, otherwise they will be considered unofficial and we will not be able to accept them. After we receive your transcript please allow 2 - 3 weeks for processing time.
To make sure transcripts are received on time, transcripts should be ordered as soon as an admission decision has been made.
Failure to submit official transcripts by the stated deadlines may result in your application being withdrawn.
The deadline to submit official AP/CLEP/IB scores is July 15 (this deadline is for exams taken prior to 2021). AP exams taken this year (2021) should be sent to us as soon as scores become available.
Please send scores earlier if they are available to ensure timely processing of your credits and Fall course placement.

The Bronco Card is the official Cal Poly Pomona photo identification card for all Cal Poly Pomona faculty, staff, students and affiliates. It can also be used for dining services and convenience store locations, as well as access to campus services, buildings, and laboratories.
