Welcome back!

By visiting the Returning Student website, you have taken the first step towards completing your degree. Take your time to review the website and submit a short interest form to get started. We look forward to having you back on campus soon! 

Please know that this is only an initial step in your return to CPP and is not a guarantee of readmission to the University.

Returning Student Information

Returning Student

You are a returning student if the following applies:

  • You left the CPP degree program in good academic standing
  • You have not attempted units at another college/university

 

Returning Transfer Student

You are a returning transfer student if the following applies:

  • If you left your CPP degree program in good academic standing,
  • You have attempted units at another college/university

Returning Transfer Students are held to the same eligibility requirements, application procedures, and deadlines as new transfer students. They are also given 'local preference' for admission consideration. Please refer to the Transfer Requirements webpage for more details.

 

Leave of Absence (LOA)

If you are returning from an official CPP approved Leave of Absence (LOA), please contact the Bronco Advising Center (BAC) for next steps.

Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) is a proud military friendly campus that is grateful to serve and support its returning Veterans and military service members. As a former student, review the information from our Veterans Resource Center to determine if you can return to CPP based on military service.

Returning Transfer Student
  1. Apply online at Cal State Apply by the Returning Transfer deadline.
  2. If you left the university on Probation, Probation with Contract, or Academic Disqualification, please complete this form. A member of the Office of Student Success will reach out to you in the coming weeks to assess your options for next steps.
  3. Plan to submit official transcripts from colleges/university attended since leaving CPP. For Fall readmission, transcripts should include courses and grades earned through the prior Fall term; for Spring readmission, transcripts should include courses and grades earned through the prior Summer term.

Once your application has been submitted, we will send you a notification by email to acknowledge receipt of your application. Once we receive all required transcripts and documents, we will notify you via email of your readmission decision. Please plan to regularly check your email, and promptly respond to requests.

Returning Student

  1. Apply online at Cal State Apply by the Returning Student deadline.
    • If you have completed less than 60 semester units of college credit.
  2. If previously disqualified, meet with an advisor from your last major department, and then submit the approved Undergraduate Petition for Readmission from Disqualification to the Admissions Office within 30 days of reapplication. If you are changing your major, you must meet the Major-Specific Criteria for the new major, and also receive written support from the new major department.
Once your application has been submitted, we will send you a notification by email to acknowledge receipt of your application. Once we receive all required transcripts and documents, we will notify you via email of your readmission decision. Please plan to regularly check your email, and promptly respond to requests.
As a returning or returning transfer applicant, this is only an initial step in your return to CPP and is not a guarantee of readmission to the University.

Here are some important items to consider if you are offered readmission and decide to attend CPP:

Advising: If you have advising questions related to returning to CPP, feel free to contact the Bronco Advising Center for more information.

Financial Aid: Visit Financial Aid and Scholarship to explore the programs that can assist in making CPP affordable. Be sure to review the application procedures and priority deadlines.

Housing: If you plan to live on-campus, CPP offers apartment-style residence halls that are within walking distance to classrooms, sports facilities, and the library. For more information, visit the University Housing Services webpage.

Orientation: To help ensure a smooth transition to CPP, new transfers are required to participate Orientation. For more information, visit Orientation webpage.
