Returning Students

Returning Students who left in good academic standing, meaning their CPP and/or their overall GPA is a 2.0 or above, are elgibile to reapply to university. 

• Those wanting to come back to the same major they left need to fill out the Welcome Back form (this form is only available to those who have been away from CPP for 5 years or less) 
  • Please view our step-by-step guide on how to access this form 
• Those wanting to come back in a different major need to re-apply via Cal State Apply by the returning student deadline.
  • If attempting to return to a different major, readmission isn't guranteed and is at the discretion of the new department. 

Once your application has been submitted, we will send you a notification by email to acknowledge receipt of your application.  We will notify you via email of your readmission decision and/or if any documents are needed. 

As a returning or returning applicant, this is only an initial step in your return to CPP and is not a guarantee of readmission to the University.

Returning Students who left in negative standing, meaning that their CPP and/or overall GPA was below a 2.0, need to fill out our Welcome Back Form.  They will also need to meet with an advisor from their department and/or the Bronco Advising Center to explore strategies for increasing CPP GPA to be eligible for readmission. 

As a returning applicant, this is only an initial step in your return to CPP and is not a guarantee of readmission to the University.

Students are considered Returning Transfers if the following applies: 

• They left their CPP degree program in good academic standing
• They have attempted units at another college/university after attending CPP

Returning Transfers, regardless of applying to the same or different major, need to apply via Cal State Apply. 

• If attempting to return to a different major, readmission isn't guranteed and is at the discretion of the new department. 

Please note, Returning Transfer Students are held to the same eligibility requirements (Golden Four, 60 transferable units, required or recommended supplemental coursework for impacted majors, etc.), application procedures, and deadlines as new transfer students. They are also given 'local preference' for admission consideration. Please refer to the Transfer Requirements webpage for more details.
