Your Future Has a New Address: Cal Poly Pomona
Direct Admission is a guaranteed path to Cal Poly Pomona for eligible high school seniors in participating school districts. Your district confirms your 2.5 GPA and A-G course requirements. Then, submit your Cal State Apply application and select a non-impacted major to claim your place.
Who is eligible for Cal Poly Pomona Direct admission?
- High school senior graduating summer 2026
- Completed your “A-G” course requirements
- Possess a 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Attended a school in one of the participating school districts
- Applied to Cal Poly Pomona in a non-impacted major

How do you guarantee your admission?
Fall 2027 priority application filing period is August 1 – November 30, 2026. You’ll be able to submit your application beginning October 1, 2026.
1.) Launch your application through CaliforniaColleges.edu or connect your CaliforniaColleges.edu account in Cal State Apply.
2.) Select a non-imapcted Cal Poly Pomona major
3.) Complete and submit the rest of the application (if you also qualify for an application waiver, you’ll be notified on the final submission page)
4.) Monitor your email for your submission confirmation, information to start our Bronco Account, and accept your admission offer

Yes! Even though you're pre-approved, you must complete the Cal State Apply application and submit it. Be sure that your application is linked to our CaliforniaColleges.edu account so that your transcripts auto populate in your application which is what makes this such an easy application to submit. Be sure to submit your application by the November 30 priority filing deadline.
The Cal State Apply application fee is $70. However, California residents are automatically reviewed for a fee waiver. Eligibility is based on household income and family household size. If you are edible, you’ll be notified on the final page of the application. This waiver can be applied to up to four CSU campuses.
In 2025, California enacted Senate Bill 640 (SB 640), expanding the CSU Direct Admission initiative to school districts across the state. The legislation builds on the CSU's existing direct admission efforts, making it easier for more California students to access higher education and pursue a CSU degree. There are currently 17 CSUs participating in the program. Make Cal Poly Pomona your first choice!
